Welcome to the Blueprint

Greetings, and welcome to the Blueprint!

The Blueprint is a blog, born from the idea that every adventure is better when started with a map.

This is the office of both Sean Platt of Writer Dad and Eric Hamm of “Motivate Thyself.”  We know what it’s like to begin with nothing, gather a whole lot of something, and then aim for an abundance.

We offer a new breed of blog dedicated to finding your voice.

bloggingBlogging is still brand new.
If the first computer was manufactured at midnight, the first blog wouldn’t show up until  5 o’clock the following evening.  Technology transforms culture.  Culture drives future direction.

The online world sits balanced between everywhere we’ve ever been and everywhere we’ve yet to go.

Today’s bloggers are tomorrow’s pioneers.

Blogging is history happening; an open door to anyone who cares to carve out their online space.  The Blueprint is a place for newbies and up and comers to learn from those who have been there before through a series of insights, guest posts and interviews.

Our focus

  • To help build better bloggers.  The best lessons are learned through the wisdom of others.  At the Blueprint we are on a constant quest for continuous growth, seeking knowledge from the best and brightest, then passing it along to our audience in an ongoing effort to refine our voices.
  • Shared experience. Blogging is social.  Those bloggers who find the greatest success are those with tapestries thick from contacts and practical knowledge.  The more people you know, the more you can connect; enabling you to both assist others and benefit from available help.  Connection is the key that opens most every door.
  • To build a beacon within Blogopolis. The Worldwide Web can be confusing.  Navigating with a map means it’s harder to find yourself lost.  The Blueprint aims to be a landing spot for eager beginners and seasoned travelers.

What makes Blogopolis Blueprint different?

  • The Blueprint is co-authored by Eric Hamm and Sean Platt with sharp voice.  Eric specializes in the more technical side of blogging, while Sean leans more toward the creative.  Together, we offer a blended voice, rare in the online world, exploring the full scope of what it takes to be a better blogger.
  • Includes both video and traditional content. We have no plans to break with tradition, but fully acknowledge the future of blogging and its warm embrace of video.  Observing trends and keeping ahead is fundamental to consistent growth.
  • The Blueprint embraces both sides of the brain. We deliver information conducive to rapid proficiency.  Each week will cover a separate topic, explored thoroughly between written and video content.  Our partnership is forged by the philosophy that true learning requires various angles of depth.  That mindset is woven into the architecture of the Blueprint.

The structure of The Blueprint

  • The Blueprint will start with a posting schedule of 8 posts per week – five traditional, and 3 videos to compliment.
  • Each week has a single theme thoroughly developed.
  • We will include guest posts, interviews, co-authored posts, and always relevant links.

Blogopolis brims with blogs on blogging.  Ours is different.  Join us from the beginning.

  15. Ok,I’ve been looking around, snooping in your cupboards, and I think I like it here. I just might come back with cookies and coffee and kick my shoes off for awhile. Seeing two familiar, smiling mugs in the header helps a lot! :D

I’m liking the term “blended voice”. I think you guys need to copyright that one because you do it well.

Eric, I’m praying for you buddy, you’re gonna need it working with this nut. ;)
Sean, I’m just amazed, truly. It’s better than I envisioned and I can’t wait to see where it takes you. You hold tight and keep on believing. We got your back.

Videos? Great concept. Let’s see how it works…
For now, add one to your count of RSS readers. Using NetNewsWire on a MacBook, if that info is useful to you.
Arrived via twitter, but I can’t remember who posted the link. Anyway, good luck!

  19. The video idea I think is great. I’ve often wondered why there aren’t more video bloggers out there. Sure there’s blogs with funny videos or tv show clips but actually vlogging is a great way to reach people.

  20. Eric Hamm says:

@Jamie: Thanks! I need all the prayer I can get! This guy’s a real nut job!

@Jay: Thanks! We’re really excited and are please that it seems to be getting off on the right foot.

@Rafael: Thanks for all the info. That kind of stuff helps to know. We look forward to seeing you around the Blueprint!

@Hosting Reviews: I know what you mean. There seems to be tons of videos available, but few like this. We’re hoping this helps us create a unique blog that worth subscribing to. Eric.
