9 Terrific Blogs about Blogging, Because 10 is 1 too Many

blogs about bloggingEight months back, when first investigating Blogopolis, it seemed I added every blog into my reader that had anything interesting whatsoever to say about blogging. I use my reader is a toolbox, and have constantly cleaned and sharpened my feeds so they don’t grow dull. Upon starting the Blueprint, I started to read a few blogs about blogging again. This time with a slightly different perspective.

The following list of blogs crosses the gambit, each doing something slightly unique and each one worth reading. Though I don’t read all of these every day, each sits in my reader.

  • Chrisg.com is where Chris Garrett posts semi-daily. His blog consistently has intelligently articulated thoughts and advice on new media, blogging and online marketing in general. He continuously offers his readers new ways to create compelling content and provide more value to their audience, which ultimately leads to greater rewards for the blogger.
  • Dosh Dosh is a blog run by Maki, a Philosophy student from Toronto, Canada. He offers Internet marketing and blogging tips, with a fair sprinkling of social media strategies. Dosh Dosh is best read by bloggers, entrepreneurs, web publishers, marketers, freelancers and small business owners. Though Maki’s posts don’t seem to follow any sort of schedule, they are always worth reading.

  • Converstations is a blog that promotes the idea that we are all contagious with a unique contagion to spread (but in a good way). At the core of each of us we are still the child we once were – simply seeking acceptance and fun, while letting our curiosity guide us to where we need to go.

  • Bloggers Blog is kinda weird, I’ve no problem admitting. It seems to be a news site about blogging. It occasionally has some fairly interesting stories that I don’t find elsewhere.

  • Blog about your Blog is a blog about quality blogs, quality bloggers, and quality people. It is a wide open blog promoting collaboration, that warmly welcomes communities from every different spectrum. Blog about your Blog continuously promotes all types of blogs and bloggers, the common thread being those blogs they believe to have the greatest impact on Blogopolis as a whole.
  • Quick Online Tips is, no doubt, a web 2.0 blog. It discusses regular technology news, quick tips for blogging, new media, and various web 2.0 services. It also has the seemingly mandatory section that most big blogs have about how to make money online. Quick Online Tips has over 17,000 readers and is a member of the 9Rules network (which has twice rejected me).
  • Daily Blog Tips has been around for a while, but has really blown up in the last year or so. It’s author, Daniel Scocco started developing blogs and websites in 2005, and has built Daily Blog Tips to share all he’s learned along the way. His posts are intelligent, consistent, and often fun.
  • ProBlogger doesn’t need an introduction, but just in case you came here from the moon, Darren Rowse was the first guy to plant a flag deep in pro blogging. ProBlogger is the crown jewel of the staggeringly bloated pro blogging niche.
  • Copyblogger needs no more of an introduction than Darren’s site does, but I’m the type to save the best for last. Brian Clark is king of the copywriters. His site offers constant, practical advice that provides a tremendous value to anyone using words to make their living online.

By no means is this list meant to be comprehensive, but every once in a while I know I like to give my feeds a little freshening. Maybe you do too.
