    Private video apparently..

  2. Eric Hamm says:

Oops! That’s totally my bad! It’s now public. Sorry about that. Eric

  3. Danny Cooper says:

I’m not sure if this is for me just yet, I’ll read the sample chapter then go from there.

  4. Hi guys
I’m sitting here watching the cursor blink in the form wondering how to say what I have to say. I guess there really is no beating about the bush so I’ll just say it.

The preview chapter we get as an email subscriber really says nothing about the book. In fact I’d go so far as to say that the chapter 1 preamble is nothing more than fluff (and contrary to what Eric says in the video).

I’m at a bit of a loss now. I like what you guys have to say, I’ve been following Sean for quite a while. Heck you’ve even gone and inspired me to get off my back side and put more effort into making a living from writing/blogging. However I can’t justify parting with my cash at this point in time, even at the risk of having to spend more later down the line.

How about opening up more? Provide a different chapter as a free sample, list the table of contents and/or just provide more of an incentive than just $20 off.

Maybe I can start off with some questions (in my desperate attempt to turn this negative comment around!)

    1) As an aspiring blogger why should I be interested in the “theory” of blogging (the main book)?

    2) Can you elaborate more on this “workbook” please? It sounds to me like you’ve written an instruction manual on how to use the instruction manual!

Hey Marc, That’s an excellent point. We get so close to the product, it’s difficult for us to see the forest through the trees. That’s the primary reason for the PreLaunch, to help us iron out the kinks before we go whole hog. Eric is working on getting a screenshot of the table of contents for the main book and Blog Boot Up Guide so you can see what’s involved. As far as your questions are concerned: 1) A lot of blogging methodology tells you how to sign up with affiliate programs or use ad sense or various other monetization methods. We don’t go into that at all. We spend our time with the bones beneath the skin. We articulate the methods and mindset that we used in our first month to take us from the first step to the next. We’re far from the top of the mountain, just two guys who have worked really hard to move from point A to B, while still ambling along the long road to Z. A lot of blogging material is jumbled jargon. This isn’t. My favorite early review came from a blogger who has put out a few posts but not yet found their momentum. She said, “This is my favorite thing I’ve read on blogging, because I felt like you were right there with me, having a conversation and explaining things in terms I understand.” The book does lean toward the novice, so she was the ideal candidate. 2) The workbook basically covers the material in a more linear fashion. People have different ways of learning, and in our first round of requested feedback, this was pointed out. The workbook ended up being the ideal supplement to the more thoughtful material.

  6. Thanks for the answers Sean. Things are a bit clearer and I’m more inclined to buy now.

  7. Sean Platt says:

My pleasure Marc. The book is really good and I’m really proud of it. Eric and I spent a lot of time on it and quality was our chief concern. However, it may not be for every one. There is nothing worse than downloading something and feeling the sting of regret. Well, there are actually, but not too many online. If it isn’t for you, a refund is as simple as an email. Thanks for the feedback. Stuff like that is super helpful.

You guys are about value. I do not need any incentive. I am ordering right now! Thanks for the discount though. :-)
