Good post, Marc :)

I hate the con artists. I've found that so many people have been burnt by them, that they automatically assumed that any high priced product is a con. I recently bought and reviewed an ebook by the guys behind Ittybiz and Rockyourday. It was posted on Problogger and the comments let loose. You, Marc, were one of the nice ones. The rest didn't even bother to check out Daves blog or even see if the product was good.

I've found that people are too afraid of the dangers to even give things ago. I can understand their reluctance but not everything online is a scam. I guess it all depends on where you are in your blogging career.

I like the idea of picking out mentors. I've chosen about 5 nice bloggers who have similar business/blogging goals. I don't necessarily have to interact with them, I just observe how they work and try to emulate what I like about them.

I'm actually trying to position myself as someone who knows what is going on in the blogosphere. I want to be the person who knows what products are being released and be the go-to-girl for someone looking to learn more.

Anyway - enough of the ramble. Again, great post. And if you ever need a guest post on your blog - just ask. :) I learn more when I post on other peoples blog!

Thanks Randi.

One thing I have learned is that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Stupid would be to not ask it! You keep asking whatever you need answers to :)

I always appreciate posts that explain things for newcomers to the blogging world. When I ask too many questions I feel like I am wearing a big blinking "Please mock me behind my back" hat. So I love coming to this site, where they are nice to people who deserve mocking. Nice to see you here as a guest poster, because I enjoy reading your comments as well.

I was fascinated by your introduction to the dark side. I had no idea that there were people who steal content from other sites. Like Janice I was a little leery about clicking on the "murderers" link. :)

Randi’s last blog post..Five Essentials of Good Customer Service

@Janice Thanks for commenting. I was getting bored watching the tumble weed rolling by ;)

Learning at your own pace and being patient are key to success here. I've seen and even been one of the bloggers that burn themselves out.

Great to see you sharing all this with us! (Who's been keeping all their expertise under a covered wagon, then?!)I just wanted to say thanks before I timidly click the 'murderers' link above. I completely agree with your suggestion of having a few good mentors and of patiently building towards a solid future; that's why I'm here and enjoying learning at a pace that isn't overwhelming.
