In my experience I have found that thesis makes the simple things that non-tech people want to do really simple, for example repositioning sidebars.

However for people who can code and already know their way around wordpress I think hooks are pointless. But I’m sure things will become better as Chris develops new versions of thesis.

  2. Eric Hamm says:

@Danny: I totally agree that Thesis makes moving things around easy, but have you checked out the back end of Flexx? It’s pretty sweet! It’s like having a box of Legos where you can just plug in your blogs framework with a few clicks of a mouse. But like you said, for those who know there way around php/html/css, it can be a bit cumbersome. Eric

You guys have me trained so that my reason for watching is now twofold: for information and for humor. The way you two play off of each other is matchless, like a classic comedy team. During your serious moments I still sit here with a goofy grin on my face! Even a stranger could tell you are both writers by the finesse in your verbal sparring. Good work!

  4. Thanks for answering my question guys!

Eric, I’m gonna have to try out Thesis now because you said it is a bit too complicated! To me that equals more customizability and that’s what I’m looking for in a premium theme! Can’t wait to try it out now.

By the way, the videos are getting better and better! Unfortunately I can only watch them at home, and time is limited when I’m at home, but I try to catch them when I can and each one is better than the last…keep it up!

  5. I just popped over after reading your article on John Chow and you guys are great.

I’m a mommy blogger but you won’t hold that against me, will you?

I’m not sure what it says about me that I thought the “jaunty” thing was hysterical.

You two are crazy cats. If I start getting people clicking through looking for Mr Bean, I’m going to stitch you up like a kipper.

@Randi- the comedy team you have in mind is Bert and Ernie! :)

  7. Randi says:

    Dave,

You are soooo right! That is exactly the comedy team I was thinking of! It is so funny to watch Bert (Eric) try to keep Ernie (Sean) under control. Or do I have it backwards?

And what does “stitch you up like a kipper” mean? I know I’ve heard it on a TV show before…maybe Red Dwarf…

OK GUYS! Keep it down in there!

    MATT: Go buy Thesis!

Kim: Us Americans can’t help but laugh at such a JAUNTY word. So no, we won’t hold it against you.

Dave: Who keeps letting you in here? :-)

Randi: We switch roles often, but Sean DOES seem to have self control issues.

“STITCH UP LIKE A KIPPER”? We just smile and nod when Dave opens his mouth. Just smile and nod… :-D Eric
