  1. Pancakes without syrup? That’s nasty.

You’re a man with a vision. Got to respect that.

Me? I just want to mint Benjamins, to be perfectly honest. That’s what got me into the blog world and that’s what’s keeping me there.

Well, OK, I like writing too.

When you really think about it… if you want to make money blogging, you really have to be among the very best at what you do. There is no way around that reality. And you can’t just be the best at generating great content either, though that aspect is mandatory. You have to figure out a business plan that will actually work. And you have to sell your product or service to your fans tactfully by using strategy and overall excellent copywriting skills.

I have my pancakes without syrup! In fact I’ve never had pancakes with syrup lol

I totally get what you mean about understanding other peoples goals. I know that I am using blogging as a path to an online income, but I understand that for a lot of people blogging is like a personal diary with social interaction. Which is another great thing that blogging has allowed.

One thing I will say though is that I think it’s important to realise that if you do want to make a living online your passion may not be a good niche. For example with the same amount of effort a niche product orientated blog will more than likely earn more money than a personal blog.

I can SO visualise your school! I used to have a similar dream when I ran my coaching classes, membership site and forum but I didn’t have the video technology or access to an Eric back then! I know you and Cindy will make it some day soon. And the book’s a done deal….just a question of when it’s going to happen.

Also love that you and Sean are doing a combination of videos and posts here at BB.

But here’s a request: please don’t stop doing the ones where you both work together. They’re my favourites. I’ve said it before; they show what can happen when good friends, good writing and computing expertise get together and start to blend.

And a question…what exactly are you guys dreaming of for Blogopolis Blueprint? If someone else had it in a list of blogs in their feed like you did yesterday, how would they be summing it up in a few words?

  4. Sean, you hit every nail on the head on this one. You have your goals well and truly mapped out and I can tell you right now you are on the road to success. As one of my all time favourite songs go:

“Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
    See how they shine.”

@Bamboo Forest Again, another blogger who “gets” it. Spot on with the advice

@Danny It’s not so much passion being a niche but rather passion for your niche. See my latest post below for more info.

    @Janice Awesome question! :)

Pure words of wisdom! What an encouragement for new bloggers!

I also believe that if you do not give up no matter what happens you will eventually succeed.

So many people start blogs/websites in search for quick cash but they quit when they are faced by some difficulties.

It is so much easier to succeed when you leave the money aside for now and just focus on providing high quality content that will make a difference in the lives of people who read your blog.

Bamboo: Really though, isn’t that the same with anything? Sure, there’s a measure of right place and right time, but those who are the most successful in life are typically pretty good at what they do. It’s only natural that blogging would be the same. And of course there’s the time element. I don’t think there are too many bloggers who are printing their Benjamins after only a brief respite online. It takes hard work, a lot of consistency, and patience. I LOVE writing, but if I didn’t have an endgame, I could very well be doing my writing in a notebook without a lid.

Danny: WHAT?!? Never had syrup. You are going to make me cry. I like what you’re saying about lining up your passion and your niche. It’s true. Sometimes concessions must be made. If you truly want to make decent online scratch, you might not be able to write about the thing that makes you happiest.

Janice: I agree. My work with Cindy is getting easier to visualize every day. Neither Eric or I have any intention of dropping the videos, and in fact are endgame for this site is getting further crystalized every day. You ask an extraordinarily apt question and you will be among the first to know when our brainstorm is ready for prime time.

Marc: It’s just nice to bust out with a discussion. I think Eric and I might be going head to head in the coming week. : > )

Simona: Blogging is far from a quick cash endeavor. It is quite the opposite. However, I do believe that time and patience allows the cream to rise to the top.
